Industrial Museums Scotland (IMS) is a federation of independent accredited museums with nationally recognised collections formed in response to the recommendations of the Scottish Government’s Museum Think Tank.
The group were advised to work collaboratively to ensure maximum public impact and to achieve a more sustainable future.
To help them achieve this aim LMW Consulting was appointed as Marketing Project Manager.
To achieve public impact, the group’s requirements included:
- A Brand identity
- Web and social media presence
- Marketing and Communications Plan
- Game in the form of an App
And, digital marketing training across all member organisations.

LMW Consulting worked with IMS to further identify and develop a brand strategy, before managing a procurement exercise to appoint the digital agency, We are Everyone, who provided the tangible design assets.
Whilst project managing the asset development, LWM Consulting worked collaboratively to develop a 12-month marketing calendar, followed by a 3-year marketing and communications strategy and, delivered a tailored training programme to member organisations.
Branded today as Go Industrial with the popular hashtag, #GoIndustrial, the group now has a digital footprint across the web including, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Member organisations received training in:
- Search Engine Optimisation
- Google Analytics
- Affiliate Marketing
- Digital Marketing Strategy
And, digital content creation.
